The Sunrise Tour Circuit is one of the most unique journeys in Arunachal Pradesh. Starting from Namsai, the land of the Golden Pagoda, the route follows the scenic Lohit River valley to Walong and Dong Valley where travelers witness India's first sunrise. The journey combines Buddhist heritage, tribal culture, sacred pilgrimage sites and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Namsai
Travel: Arrival & local sightseeing (Approx. 10–20 km | 1–2 hrs)
Arrive in Namsai and check into your hotel. Begin the journey by visiting the famous Golden Pagoda (Kongmu Kham), one of the most beautiful Buddhist monasteries in Northeast India. Explore the serene Pariyatti Sasana Buddhist Vihara and experience the peaceful spiritual atmosphere. In the evening, explore local markets and enjoy traditional Tai-Khamti cuisine.

Day 2 – Cultural Exploration Around Namsai
Travel: Local sightseeing (Approx. 40–60 km | 4–5 hrs)
After breakfast, begin your day by visiting the Lathao International Bana Meditation Centre, known for its Gaint Buddha statue and peaceful hilltop views. Continue to Chongkham Raj Vihara, a beautiful monastery reflecting traditional Tai-Khamti architecture and spiritual practices. Then visit Kongmu–Fra Sutong-Pey Empong, a sacred cultural site of the Tai-Khamti community associated with ancient rituals and heritage.
Later, head to the scenic river resorts of Namsai, offering a serene riverside setting amidst nature. Here, you can relax or enjoy optional activities like elephant jungle rides through forest trails and kayaking on calm river waters (subject to availability).
The day blends spirituality, culture, and leisure experiences before returning to Namsai in the evening.

Day 3 – Namsai to Walong (Approx. 200 km)
Travel: 200 km | 8–10 hrs drive
Drive through the beautiful Lohit River valley toward Walong, one of the easternmost valleys of India. En route visit the sacred Parshuram Kund, an important Hindu pilgrimage site. Continue through scenic mountain roads, passing tribal villages and dense forests before reaching Walong in the evening.

Day 4 – Dong Valley Sunrise Experience
Travel: Walong → Dong Valley (Approx. 30 km | 1.5–2 hrs one way + short trek)
Wake up early around 2:30 AM and drive toward Dong Valley. After a short trek, witness the breathtaking sunrise – the first sunrise visible in India. Enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and rivers. Later visit Kibithoo and Kaho villages near the India-China border before relaxing at the natural Tilam Hot Springs. Return to Walong for overnight stay.

Day 5 – Walong to Namsai
Travel: Approx. 320 km | 10–12 hrs drive
After breakfast, visit the Walong War Memorial, which commemorates the brave soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China war. Drive through the historic Namti Plains, known for its scenic beauty and historical significance.
Continue your journey along the picturesque Lohit River valley, passing through lush forests, tribal villages, and winding mountain roads before reaching Namsai by evening.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Depending on your schedule, proceed for your onward journey with beautiful memories of your Arunachal adventure.
